Access to Care and Coverage
California - Northern
Kaiser Permanente Northern California Region has a long-standing commitment to universal health coverage for all Californians, starting with children. By participating in state and federal programs that provide coverage to low income populations, including Medi-Cal and Healthy Families in California, Kaiser Permanente Northern California Region helps ensure that these vulnerable populations have access to needed care.
The Kaiser Permanente Northern California Region Child Health Plan offers an affordable health plan designed for low-income uninsured children who are not eligible for public programs. Kaiser Permanente Northern California Region’s Medical Financial Assistance Program provides free and discounted care to low-income vulnerable populations.
In addition, Kaiser Permanente Northern California Region Community Benefit Programs provide grants, training and technical assistance to community organizations designed to expand access and reduce barriers to care, with an emphasis on expanding children’s health coverage and reducing cultural and linguistic barriers.
