Kaiser Permanente’s mission is to provide high-quality, affordable health care services and to improve the health of our members and the communities we serve. In keeping with that mission, the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Region Community Benefit Program’s portfolio of grants and initiatives take a multi-dimensional approach designed to have a long-term impact on community health.
Community Grants and Partnerships Program
Kaiser Permanente Northern California Region collaborates with and provides funding to organizations and agencies that offer direct services or address public policy with the aim of improving community health. Kaiser Permanente Northern California Region uses a Request for Proposal Process for strategic grant-making to meet current funding priorities. In addition, through our Responsive Grants program, Kaiser Permanente Northern California Region will consider unsolicited grant requests from organizations whose work meets our funding priorities.
Community Events and Sponsorships Program
Kaiser Permanente Northern California Region provides resources and/or support for community health and community relations activities including special events (dinners, health fairs, walks, runs), conferences, symposia, public policy briefings, and health education forums.

Funding Limitations
Kaiser Permanente Northern California Region grants are limited to organizations that are exempt from taxation under section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code. Additionally, Kaiser Permanente Northern California Region will not consider funding requests from the following types of organizations or for the following activities/purposes: Religious (for religious purposes), partisan political, fraternal, athletic, international or social organizations, endowments, memorials or individuals, field trips, or tours.
