Our work

Safety Net Partnerships

We help to strengthen the community clinic safety net so that more low-income and uninsured people will have access to primary and preventive care.

For more than a decade, Kaiser Permanente has worked closely with community health centers to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of care, to help build effective clinic management infrastructure, and to collaborate on projects that reduce health disparities and promote a community-based system of disease prevention and management. Today we’re expanding and deepening these safety net partnerships by reaching out to local health departments and public hospitals.

Kaiser Permanente provides partners with clinical and technical support, donated equipment and supplies, volunteer medical staff, and Community Benefit funding. In 2003, the California Primary Care Association honored Kaiser Permanente with its Hero Award.
