A-Listers Show Up for 'Read and Romp' Fundraising Event in San Diego

Read and Romp Fundraising EventI’m Gale Ivie, reporting “live” from the The New Children’s Museum in San Diego, where the Read and Romp fundraising event is being hosted by Kaiser Permanente’s community partner, the American Academy of Pediatrics California Chapter 3’s Reach Out and Read San Diego. And what an event it is!

The list of stars present is impressive. Max from Where the Wild Things Are; Angelina Ballerina; Mouse from If You Give a Mouse a Cookie; One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, and Blue Fish; the Very Hungry Caterpillar; and Rainbow Fish were all there to share their stories. Attendees were treated to a wide array of glitter, gluing, painting, frosting, dancing, and all manner of jumping.

The crowd was awed and spellbound by guest appearances by Clifford the Dog and the infamous Thing One and Thing Two! Physicians were on hand to diagnose and tend to any and all favorite stuffed animals that were overcome by the excitement of it all.

Every attendee left with parting (or is that partying?) gifts of crowns, crafts, smiles, two books, and a prescription for reading from a pediatrician to commemorate this fabulous gala, which is sure to be one of the premier events of the year!
