Messages that allow children to make healthy food choices
and enjoy physical activity.
The sleuth is on the case in The Amazing Food Detective - an interactive
play that helps young students understand the importance of a healthy
diet and exercise. Kaiser Permanente’s troupe of professional
actor-educators engage students in grades K-3 as they demonstrate
why some foods make you feel tired and sick, and others make you feel
energized and healthy.
Developed in partnership with health experts, schools and health organizations,
The Amazing Food Detective presents age-appropriate health messages,
including the need to: drink water, eat five colorful fruits
and veggies every day, get away from the TV or computer, play hard
at something you like to do, and eat the foods that help your mood,
your learning and your energy.
Following the performance, the actor-educators lead the students in
activities designed to reinforce the play’s messages and that
incorporate movement, role-playing and problem solving.
