What would you do?

Exploring ways to respect oneself and others.

What Would You Do? is an interactive performance that challenges upper-elementary-age students to resolve conflicts in a way that demonstrates respect for themselves and others.  Throughout the one-hour performance, the actors use stop-action techniques to invite audience members’ suggestions, and then test out the suggestions as the action resumes.  Students are also invited to join the actors on stage to act out their ideas.

What Would You Do?  sets the stage for discussions about creating
a caring school climate.  The play examines issues such as peer pressure, bullying, stress, respecting differences and recognizing individual strengths.  The hosting school’s principal or a member of the faculty is offered a small role in the performance to validate the play’s relevance to the student’s own school.

The program is free to schools and youth groups along Colorado’s Front Range – from Longmont to Colorado Springs.  Teacher and student guides are provided.

A maximum audience of 120 is recommended, the performance lasts
1 hour, and a minimum ceiling height of 15 feet and a 30- x 30-foot flat floor are required for the performance space.  (This does not include audience seating.)  This program is not suited for an auditorium or stage.  1 hour is needed for set-up and 1 hour is needed to take down the set.
