About Community Benefit Educational Theatre Charitable Contributions Grantees Annual Report

Through partnerships with nonprofit organizations, schools, and government agencies, we work to broaden our impact on improving community health.

Meeting Community Need

With Community Benefit contributions, Kaiser Permanente Georgia addresses pressing health issues identified in our Community Health Needs Assessment.

Health Disparities and Disease Prevention & Management –Residents’ health status and disease burden can vary based on geography, race, and/or socio-economic conditions. The Needs Assessment identifies AIDS, asthma, cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and hypertension as conditions that disproportionately affect individuals in our service area.

Social Conditions Affecting Health – The conditions in which people live can negatively impact health. Across the region lower-income, less educated, and/or those living in more rural settings experience worse health outcomes.

Lack of Care – High numbers of people in the region do not have health insurance. Additionally, shortages exist in the number of healthcare providers.

Program Overview

As one of Georgia’s leading nonprofit health plans, Kaiser Permanente’s mission is to improve the health of our members, and the communities we serve. This is accomplished, in part, by supporting community-based organizations through contributions for community health improvement programs. Through our Community Benefit grants program, Kaiser Permanente Georgia responds to requests from eligible organizations whose work aligns with our funding priorities.

Eligible nonprofit organizations located in the Kaiser Permanente Georgia service area, and whose proposed grant-supported programs will be located in the service area, may apply for support (see guidelines for detail).
