Caring for Our Communities

At Kaiser Permanente, one of our core values has always been to improve the health of the community as well as that of our members.  As a nonprofit health plan, we have a mission to help our communities develop into healthier places to live and work.

We began operating in Georgia in 1985. Our Community Benefit program focuses on our service area with the goal of enhancing the health and well being of families and individuals, especially those who may be at risk due to age, ethnicity, gender, or socio-economic status.

Through our Community Benefit program we offer a variety of corporate giving programs with emphasis on health-related projects.  We provide grants, sponsorships, and partnerships to community organizations.  While Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Georgia, Inc. awards most of its contributions in response to calls for proposals, we also accept some unsolicited proposals.

Our funding priorities include:

Care and Coverage for Low-Income People – Improving health care access for vulnerable populations.

Community Health Initiatives – Measurably improving the health of communities using public health interventions, policy change and the community conditions that influence health.

Safety Net Partnerships – Building strategic partnerships with the safety net – institutions that serve at the front line of health care for communities that are underserved and uninsured.

Developing and Disseminating Knowledge – Improving health care by educating practitioners, advancing research, empowering consumers and informing policymakers about the evidence base for care and health.

We invite you to review the guidelines and other information on our website to learn about our interests and how to apply for funding.

Live Well. Be Well. Thrive.
