Parking

Parking is available along the right side of the building and the row along the street. PLEASE DO NOT PARK directly in front of the building next door at 626 Whitney Street. Alternate Parking - If above areas are full, you may park to the left of our facility in the lot at 562 Whitney Street.

Security

The center is a locked facility . Access is granted by reservation only. Kaiser Permanente employees must wear their badges . Non-Kaiser Permanente visitors must sign in and show ID at security desk.

Recommended Clothing

The center is housed in a warehouse style facility. Many areas have large open space with concrete floors. Plan to wear layered clothing for temperature fluctuations and comfortable walking shoes.

Public Transportation

San Leandro BART is the closest station to the Garfield Center. When taking BART we recommend scheduling a taxi to pick you up as no shuttle service is available.

Please allow 30 minutes to get from downtown Oakland to the Garfield Center, as traffic is often heavy along 880.
1. Start out going Southwest on Harrison St toward 17th St
2. Turn left onto International Drive / 14th St
3 .Turn right onto Madison St
4. Turn Left onto 5th St
5. Merge onto I-880 South toward San Jose
6. Take the 98th Ave exit
7. Turn right onto 98th Ave
8. Turn left onto Bigge St
9. Turn right onto Adams Ave
10. Turn left onto Whitney St
11. End at 590 Whitney St
