Amy Compton-Phillips, MD

The Permanente Federation


Amy Compton-Phillips, MD, is the associate executive director of quality for The Permanente Federation, which represents the national interests of Kaiser Permanente's eight Permanente Medical Groups. Amy was previously an internist and the physician director of Population Care at Kaiser Permanente in the Mid-Atlantic States—Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. She has held several positions at Kaiser Permanente, serving as chief of internal medicine, running medical offices, and being responsible for the design and implementation of wellness, prevention, and disease management activities for the organization.

Amy earned her bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University. After growing fond of sailboat racing on Chesapeake Bay, she remained in the area to do her medical training at University of Maryland in Baltimore, and joined Kaiser Permanente after her residency.
