Terhilda Garrido has worked at Kaiser Permanente for more than 20 years. At present, she is vice president, Health Information Technology Transformation & Analytics within the National Quality and Care Delivery Excellence organization. Her team is responsible for realizing the strategic value of, and maximizing opportunities for, Kaiser Permanente’s electronic health record (EHR).
Terhilda's areas of focus include evaluation of new EHR-based innovations, strategic impact of EHRs, the business case for Kaiser Permanente’s investment, leveraging health information technology to improve quality, patient safety, efficiency, and equity. She has published on these topics and lends her expertise to various organizations within the health care industry. She is coauthor of Kaiser Permanente's Blue Sky Vision—a vision of Kaiser Permanente's transformation to a more patient-centered care delivery system with health information technology.
Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, Terhilda did economic modeling and consulting for the European Economic community and others. She holds an operations research degree in engineering from Princeton University and a master's degree in public health in biostatistics from the University of California, Berkeley. She completed graduate work at the Colégio de México in Mexico City.
