About Us
Kaiser Permanente’s Social Mission
Our status as a not-for-profit organization drives a unique standard for measuring our success -- this standard is defined by our social purpose and the social benefits we provide.
We are a values-driven, not-for-profit organization whose social purpose is to:
- Assure access to affordable, high quality health care services;
- Improve the health status of members and the community we serve;
- Discover and share new, innovative, effective ways to organize and deliver care and to prepare future health care professionals for practice.
Our social purpose carries with it the responsibility to demonstrate a social benefit beyond that provided by our commercial competitors -- a social benefit that transforms health care in our communities, leading to improved health. To demonstrate that social mission, and our commitment to serving our communities, Kaiser Permanente has launched these and other programs designed to have a positive impact on our communities.
