“…exemplifies the word physician – one skilled in the art of healing.”
Chief of Head and Neck Surgery
Fresno
John Damrose, MD is not a role model simply because he’s the chief of Head and Neck Surgery at the Fresno Medical Center. He’s a role model because he exemplifies the word physician – one skilled in the art of healing.
Compassionate and gracious, Dr. Damrose does everything in his power to make sure patients who come to the clinic receive the very best care. He treats every patient as if they were the only one, taking time to listen, explain, and respond to concerns. He never hesitates to work through his lunch hour or on weekends if it better serves patients or the department. He shows the same dedication and commitment to his staff.
As chief, Dr. Damrose exemplifies caring leadership. He runs a very organized clinic. He makes it clear that he values the opinions of every staff member and encourages them to talk with him whenever they feel the need. For him, every person is as vital to a department’s success as the heart is to the body and he goes above and beyond to support his team in any way he can.
Dr. Damrose attributes his ability to care compassionately for his patients, staff members, and the department to everything that’s great about working for Kaiser Permanente. “Being a Kaiser Permanente physician means you’re free to focus on patient care and that’s exactly what I want to be doing,” he says.
