Dr. Wagner’s contributions as a physician and a leader have made a difference not only to the facility and the region but also to the world. She has served TPMG in many capacities—as Chair of Credentials and Privileges, Assistant Chief of Quality, and, now, as Chief of Medical Legal. However, she is best known as the founder of the Matibabu Foundation, an organization that is building health, family, and community services in rural Kenya. Gail developed the vision, gathered the resources, and encouraged many physicians to travel with her to Africa to provide needed care. She works tirelessly planning the program, funding, recruiting providers, and helping to lead the efforts on the ground in Kenya. With her support, the Foundation is currently building a small hospital.
