Dr. Choy distinguishes herself as both a dedicated internist and a leader in the Asian Pacific Islander (API) community. She has made major contributions to the Prism Project, a comprehensive effort to address health and family needs, confront issues challenging API youth, promote mental health, and prevent domestic violence in the API community. She has also served on the Board of Directors and the Advisory Board of My Sister’s House, the first domestic violence shelter in Sacramento for women and children in the API community. A member of the North Valley Domestic Violence Task Force, she champions universal screening in the Adult Medicine Department.
