Dr. Carl is an outstanding emergency physician and respected leader. Prior to his career in medicine, Mike developed and ran his own successful plumbing contracting business, which still exists today. Since joining TPMG in 1995, he has served as Chief of the Emergency Department as well as Assistant Physician-in-Chief for Trauma and Emergency Services. His philosophy is to provide the best possible care, with a compassionate human touch. His dedication to providing the same care for each patient that he would expect for his own family and friends has become the standard for the Emergency Department, which has earned the highest MPS scores in the region. Under his leadership, the physicians have developed operational innovations such as Physician-in-Triage, leveraging KP HealthConnect, and preparing for the opening of South Sacramento’s Level II Trauma Center.
