Wiesenthal, associate director of The Permanente Federation and the physician organization's leader for KP HealthConnect™, told InfoWorld Senior Editor David L. Margulius that the electronic medical record initiative is exceeding expectations and is being rolled out and used widely throughout Kaiser Permanente.

Margulius, in a companion piece, wrote that he thought Weisenthal was "balanced and articulate about what's going on at Kaiser and in health care IT in general."
