Jenny J. Ming

Jenny J. Ming has served on the boards of Kaiser Foundation Hospital and Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. since December 2006. She serves on the Quality and Health Improvement Committee, the Community Benefit Committee, and the Governance, Accountability and Nominating Committee. In October 2009, Ming was appointed president and CEO of Charlotte Russe Holdings, Inc., a specialty retailer of apparel and accessories targeting young women, with more than 500 stores across the United States and Puerto Rico. From March 1999 to October 2006, she served as president of Old Navy, a $6.7 billion business segment of the Gap, Inc., where she oversaw all aspects of Old Navy and its 900 retail clothing stores in U.S. and Canada. Ming joined Gap, Inc. in 1986, serving in various executive capacities in its San Francisco headquarters, and in 1994, she was a member of the executive team that launched Old Navy.
Business Week magazine named Ming one of the nation’s top 25 managers in 2000, and she was included in Fortune magazine’s 2003 and 2004 lists of the “50 Most Powerful Women in American Business.”
She serves on the board of trustees of the Museum of Chinese in America in New York. She also serves on the board of the Merage Foundation for the American Dream, which is dedicated to promoting expanded opportunities for immigrants to the United States, and received its Business and Community Leadership Award for 2006. She is also on the advisory board of Cornell University, College of Human Ecology. Ming received her bachelor of arts degree in clothing merchandising from San Jose State University.
