Edward Pei

Edward Pei has served on the boards of Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. since April 2006. He is a member of the Quality and Health Improvement Committee, the Finance Committee, and the Governance, Accountability and Nominating Committee. In December 2009, Pei retired as executive vice president of the Consumer Banking Group of First Hawaiian Bank in Honolulu, where he also served as a member of the bank’s Senior Management Committee. He oversaw the bank’s Card Services Division, Business Services Division, Residential Real Estate Division and the Retail Credit Product Division. Pei joined First Hawaiian Bank in 1971 and also held the position of senior vice president of the Electronic Banking Division. He led the management and marketing of credit and debit card products for both consumers and business clients.

Pei is past president of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii, and past chair of the board of trustees of Academy of the Pacific. He has served on Hawaii’s 50th Anniversary of Statehood Commission, which planned activities to commemorate this occasion in 2009, and served as chair of the March of Dimes Hawaii Chapter from 1985 to 1990.

Pei received a bachelor of science degree from Oregon State University, a master of business administration degree from the University of Hawaii, and also graduated from two advanced banking school programs.
