CEO George Halvorson Interviewed on CNBC
CNBC featured an interview June 21 with Kaiser Permanente CEO George Halvorson in a segment about revolutionizing health care. The segment helped kick off NBC Universal’s “Health Week” series.
Halvorson appeared on CNBC’s highly rated morning show, “Squawk on the Street,” and was interviewed by Mark Haines. Halvorson told Haines about the interests foreign countries have in Kaiser Permanente. In recent years, a steady of stream of visitors from countries including Canada, Brazil, the Netherlands and Singapore have turned to Kaiser Permanente to improve their health systems through the use of electronic health records.
Halvorson noted that it’s electronic health records, coupled with an integrated delivery system, that make Kaiser Permanente a model for the future of health care. Halvorson also noted the need to determine what you are looking to achieve and to develop a care plan that will allow you to achieve your goals — which is the way care is delivered at Kaiser Permanente.
This interview was a part of NBC Universal’s Health Week series, which will include interviews with five prominent health care CEOs. Other health care sectors to be featured on CNBC programming this week include pharmaceutical manufacturers and cancer treatment and research centers.
The interview can be viewed through CNBC’s website.
