The U. S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Green Electronics Council today recognized Kaiser Permanente as a "Green Electronics Champion" for its leadership in buying environmentally friendly computers. Kaiser Permanente was the only health care organization to receive the distinction for "Going Green" when buying electronic products.

7/21/07 Farmers Market Opens In Heart of South Los Angeles
Vendors from as far as Fresno are bringing a bountiful assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables to the new Watts Healthy Farmers Market today, thanks to grants from Kaiser Permanente and the California Community Foundation. The weekly Saturday market, which opens today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 103rd Street and Central Avenue in Ted Watkins Park, will feature 12 produce vendors along with six prepared-food booths. Nutrition and fitness classes, as well as basic health screenings, will be offered.
