The program, which is in place throughout Kaiser Permanente's medical centers in Northern California, won one of only three "eValue8" awards given out this year by the National Business Coalition on Health.

Kaiser Permanente Health Plan and Hospital's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer George Halvorson was among seven chief executives who received the CEO Diversity Leadership Award from the Diversity Best Practices organization at their Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Summit & Gala. Halvorson also delivered the keynote speech on diversity initiatives in the health care sector.

The U. S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Green Electronics Council have recognized Kaiser Permanente as a "Green Electronics Champion" for its leadership in buying environmentally friendly computers. |8/2007||Kaiser Permanente has successfully certified its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory with the California Climate Action Registry, becoming the first health care organization to earn the distinction of Climate Action Leader™. Kaiser Permanente is now publicly and voluntarily reporting its 2006 GHG emissions under the rigorous Registry program.|
