Kaiser Permanente Southern California set a new Guinness World Record today with 7,240 colorectal cancer screenings completed in one day at multiple sites. A dedicated team of more than 300 Kaiser Permanente primary care physicians, specialists, nurses and medical staff at multiple facilities throughout Southern California, administrated 342 colonoscopies, 44 sigmoidoscopies and collected 6,854 at-home fecal immunochemical tests (FIT) during the eight hour event to increase public awareness about the importance of getting regular colorectal cancer screenings.

Kaiser Permanente earned the highest scores from customers in the health care insurance category in Insure.com’s annual customer satisfaction study. Insure.com surveyed more than 5,600 insurance customers nationwide to rate their satisfaction with their auto, home, health and life insurance companies. Insurers were scored on customer service, claims satisfaction, value for price paid, percent who plan to renew and percent of who would recommend the company to others. Kaiser Permanente scored 83.6 out of 100.

On Feb. 4, the California Council for Excellence recognized the 2012 recipients of the California Awards for Performance Excellence at its annual conference in Irvine, Calif. Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center Area was awarded the Eureka Gold Award. The Eureka Award is the top-tier award for CAPE, and only two organizations received Eureka Gold Awards this year.
