Thirteen Kaiser Permanente Hospitals Honored by U.S. News & World Report
Thirteen Kaiser Foundation Hospitals were ranked among the nation’s elite in the U.S. News & World Report first-ever Best Hospitals Metro Area rankings.
The new rankings analyze facilities in 52 metropolitan regions (all U.S. regions with at least 1 million in population), and recognize more than 600 hospitals with a record of high performance in key medical specialties.
Among the Kaiser Permanente facilities honored was Kaiser Permanente Fontana Medical Center, which ranked second in the Riverside (Calif.) metropolitan region. The Kaiser Permanente Sunnyside Medical Center was designated the third-best facility in the Portland (Ore.) metropolitan region.
Other Kaiser Foundation Hospital facilities named in the report were Kaiser Permanente Medical Centers in Antioch, Walnut Creek, San Francisco, Oakland, Santa Clara and San Jose — all in Northern California; and Los Angeles, Woodland Hills, Anaheim, Downey and Riverside in Southern California.
Nearly 5,000 hospitals were initially considered by U.S. News & World Report in these rankings, which evaluate specialty as well as volume. Hospitals were ranked according to reputation, mortality, patient safety and other areas, including nurse staffing and technology. For more information, visit U.S. News & World Report.
