Using a Fan During Sleep May Reduce Infants' SIDS Risk, Kaiser Permanente Study Shows
It's the first study to examine an association between better air ventilation in infants' bedrooms and reduced risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, which is the leading cause of death among infants aged 1 to 12 months in the United States.

10/01/03 Kaiser Permanente Opens New Medical Center in Modesto, Calif.
The hospital, which opened Oct. 1, is Kaiser Permanente's most environmentally friendly hospital to date and has been recognized as one of the "greenest" health care facilities in North America. The 670,000-square-foot hospital features energy-reducing materials and advanced green hospital furnishings and fixtures that use fewer toxic chemicals. Other design features, notably liberal use of natural light, promote health.
