Halvorson recorded the podcast with Lola Butcher, contributing editor for the World Congress. Halvorson's podcast previews some of the topics he will outline in his opening keynote address, titled "Changing the Shape of Healthcare: Groundbreaking Innovations and Their Impact on Healthcare Delivery."

Among the topics he discussed was chronic care and the role innovation should play in it. "What we need to recognize is that chronic care needs to be a team sport. Patients are not going to get best care until chronic care becomes a team sport," Halvorson said in the podcast. "So relative to innovation, what we need to put in place devices, mechanisms, financial incentives, and financial penalties that create team behavior by the caregivers."
