Kaiser Permanente Names Jandel Allen-Davis, MD, Vice President of Government and External Relations
Amid health care reform movement, Kaiser Permanente Colorado selects first-ever physician to lead legislative and external affairs
DENVER – Kaiser Permanente has named Jandel Allen-Davis, MD, the new Vice President of Government and External Relations. The selection of the health plan’s first physician vice president comes at time when community and legislative leaders are working closely with clinicians to develop health care solutions.

Dr. Allen-Davis will replace Kristin Snyder, who is retiring from Kaiser Permanente in April 2009.
In her new role, Dr. Allen-Davis will be responsible for Kaiser Permanente’s relationships in:
- the community at large,
- state and local government,
- the business community, and
- the legislative and executive branches of the state government.
Dr. Allen-Davis also will have executive leadership responsibility for Kaiser Permanente’s integrated communications and brand management functions, government relations, and community benefit programs.
Dr. Allen-Davis brings nearly 20 years of leadership experience to Kaiser Permanente, including roles as chair of the Colorado Permanente Medical Group Board of Directors and her most current position as associate medical director of External Relations for CPMG.

In addition to her current leadership role and patient care responsibilities, Dr. Allen-Davis is president-elect of the Colorado State Board of Medical Examiners and serves on the University of Colorado Foundation Board of Trustees, the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation Board of Directors, and the Metro Volunteer Board of Directors.
Dr. Allen-Davis graduated from Dartmouth College in 1980 and Dartmouth Medical School in 1984 and is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Before coming to work at Kaiser Permanente in 1994, she was an assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She also spent four years in the Indian Health Service in Tuba City, Arizona.
