Kaiser Permanente Receives Two of Colorado’s Top Honors for Community Service
Denver Business Journal “Partner in Philanthropy” Winner and Governor’s Commission on Community Service “Outstanding Business” Award
DENVER — Kaiser Permanente Colorado was recently awarded two prestigious honors for its philanthropic initiatives and commitment to community service.
On May 14, 2009 Kaiser Permanente was recognized by the Denver Business Journal with their first-ever "Partner in Philanthropy” award. The health plan was selected among hundreds of businesses for making significant contributions to improving community health.
The Denver Business Journal profiled Kaiser Permanente’s community benefit department in the May 15 edition. The article discussed many unique ways the organization lives up to its mission of improving the health of the communities it serves. Grant making programs, advocacy and public policy efforts, and employee and physician volunteer projects were all highlighted.
The following day, Kaiser Permanente was honored by First Lady Jeanne Ritter as the recipient of the Governor’s Commission on Community Service “Outstanding Business” award.
More than 300 people turned out for the event on the Capitol steps which also honored nonprofits and individuals for their philanthropic efforts across the state.
