Kaiser Permanente to Open First Medical Office in Colorado Springs
New Briargate Senior Health Center will increase access to affordable, quality care in the Colorado Springs area
Kaiser Permanente Colorado has signed a lease for its new Briargate Senior Health Center at 4105 Briargate Parkway in the Pavilions Building, just across the street from Memorial North Hospital. It will be the health plan’s first medical office in the area. The new health center, occupying just under 20,000 square feet, is slated to open in October 2009 and will provide Kaiser Permanente Senior Advantage Medicare members with more choice and flexibility when accessing primary care in our area.
Mark Iorio, Kaiser Permanente's executive director for the Southern Colorado service area, says, "This new facility will give our Senior Advantage members an exciting new choice for primary care in Colorado Springs. In addition to offering state-of-the-art medical services provided by Permanente physicians, our new facility will be designed as a comprehensive health care destination offering health and wellness programs, education forums and clinically-oriented care management services."
When open this fall, the Briargate Senior Health Center will offer a complete pharmacy, a hearing center, optometry and eyeglasses and basic lab and x-ray services, not only to seniors but to all Kaiser Permanente members. The medical staff will include three physicians who will be a part of the Colorado Permanente Medical Group.
Kaiser Permanente's Southern Colorado medical director, Rick Spurlock, MD, says, "We are proud to introduce our new medical office and the Colorado Permanente Medical Group to the Colorado Springs area. The many successful programs and services associated with Permanente medicine across the country will be the focus of our physicians here as well. Also, unique to this market for Kaiser Permanente, will be our focus on member choice and coordinating care with the many community physicians we have successfully partnered with over the past 12 years."
More about Kaiser Permanente's Southern Colorado Expansion

Unique to the Southern Colorado market, Kaiser Permanente members will enjoy access to an expansive network of community-based physicians as well as the benefits of a Kaiser Permanente medical office designed specifically for our seniors and staffed by Kaiser Permanente primary care physicians, nurses, and pharmacists.
