WHAT:

Kaiser Permanente physicians and staff will honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s legacy with a day ON instead of a day OFF, to help those in need. Kaiser Permanente employees will be volunteering at 14 nonprofits throughout metro-Denver as part of their annual MLK Day of Service.

WHO:

In partnership with Metro Volunteers, 400 Kaiser Permanente employees will take part in the annual MLK Day of Service. Volunteers will include physicians, executives and health care workers.

WHEN:

8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Monday, January 18, 2010

Project C.U.R.E.
10377 East Geddes Ave., Englewood
**Volunteers will sort medical supplies, load a shipping container, and build storage units to support third-world countries.

Visiting Nurses Association
390 Grant St., Denver
**Volunteers and their children will make fleece blankets and Valentine’s Day cards to be distributed to seniors.

“I Have A Dream Foundation” at Habitat Headquarters
3245 Eliot St., Denver
**Volunteers will work on a Habitat for Humanity painting project alongside at-risk youth from the “I Have a Dream” Foundation.

Denver Broncos Boys and Girls Club
4397 Crown Blvd., Denver
**Volunteers will refurbish the Club and assist children in producing a play telling the story of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Food Bank of the Rockies
10700 East 45th Ave., Denver
**Volunteers will sort and package food donations.
