Kaiser Permanente Leads Colorado Health Plans In Member Satisfaction
Kaiser Permanente Receives Top Regional Ranking in J.D. Power and Associates Study for Fourth Straight Year
DENVER — Kaiser Permanente Colorado members have rated the organization’s health plan highest in member satisfaction for the fourth consecutive year, according to a new study released today by J.D. Power and Associates.
J.D. Power and Associates 2011 U.S. Member Health Insurance Plan StudySM measures member satisfaction among 137 health plans in 17 regions throughout the U.S. The ranking considers seven factors: coverage and benefits; provider choice; information and communication; claims processing; statements;
customer service; and approval process.

Kaiser Permanente achieved a score of 703 on a 1,000-point scale, 21 points higher than the average health plan score in Colorado. The organization received the highest marks in four key areas:
- Coverage and benefits
- Information and communications
- Claims processing
- Customer service
Serving more than 535,000 members in Colorado, Kaiser Permanente offers a coordinated approach to delivering care, supported by an extensive system of electronic health records. With easy-to-use, Web-based tools, members have the ability to email their doctor, schedule appointments, check test results and order prescription refills online.
Kaiser Permanente Colorado has also ranked among the best in the nation for top-quality care. In 2010, the health plan was recognized as the highest-rated private health insurance plan in Colorado and No. 9 in the nation for quality and member satisfaction, according to the National Committee for Quality Assurance Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2010-2011.
