Kaiser Permanente Celebrates Grand Opening of Fort Collins Medical Office with VIP Open House
FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Kaiser Permanente Colorado, the state’s largest nonprofit health plan, celebrated the grand opening of its Fort Collins Medical Office and expansion into Northern Colorado with a VIP After Hours Event with the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce on Nov. 8. More than two-dozen chamber members and regional business leaders received personal tours of the medical office, met with Kaiser Permanente physicians, staff and leaders and participated in a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony at the event. Donations for the Food Bank for Larimer County were accepted at the door.
Kaiser Permanente’s Fort Collins medical office is the health plan’s 25th medical office to open in Colorado. The 21,000-square-foot facility is located at 2950 E. Harmony Road and offers primary care (family medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics), laboratory, pharmacy and routine radiology services. Approximately 20 health care professionals are employed at the office, including four physicians. The Fort Collins medical office offers extended appointment hours until 7 p.m. Monday — Friday, as well as Saturday pharmacy hours. Many same-day appointments are also available for Kaiser Permanente patients.
“It is an honor to be practicing medicine in Fort Collins,” said Hector de Leon, MD, pediatrician, Kaiser Permanente Fort Collins. “My personal philosophy is that it takes a village to raise a child and practice medicine. Kaiser Permanente’s integrated system of care provides that village through our robust electronic medical record and medical offices that offer patients everything they need to manage their health at one place.”
More than 6,000 Kaiser Permanente members currently live in Northern Colorado. In addition to the Fort Collins medical office, Kaiser Permanente’s Northern Colorado expansion includes a newly opened medical office in Loveland, plans to open a medical office in Greeley in 2014, and a partnership agreement with Banner Health hospitals and physicians. Northern Colorado members may select primary and specialty care physicians from a preferred network of more than 400 community providers and receive hospital care at McKee Medical Center in Loveland or North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. Kaiser Permanente’s partnership with Banner Health will allow for the sharing and utilization of health information technology to better coordinate patient care. The health plan’s Northern Colorado expansion is expected to bring approximately 100 jobs to the region.
