Children's Healthcare of Atlanta recognizes Kaiser Permanente for outstanding immunization rates

ATLANTA, Ga. – Kaiser Permanente of Georgia was recently honored among the recipients of this year's "Champions for Immunizations" Award from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA). The award was presented during CHOA's 9th Annual "Immunize Georgia's Little Guys" Conference in Macon last week.

Kaiser Permanente won the award for its innovative childhood immunization program and leadership in having the nation's highest immunization rate of 90.6 percent. Another factor that contributed to the health plan receiving the award is its collaborative work with the Georgia Health Division in developing GRITS, the Georgia Registry of Immunization Transactions and Services. The goal of the GRITS is to track immunization information for any children receiving immunizations in Georgia.

For several years, Kaiser Permanente has consistently received high scores on national and local reports for its successful immunization program.

Kaiser Permanente is the state of Georgia's largest nonprofit health plan, serving the health care needs of Atlanta metro area residents for 22 years. Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Georgia, Inc. currently provides comprehensive health care services to approximately 275,000 members through 15 medical facilities in a 28-county service, and a network of affiliated hospitals and physicians. The Health Plan provided more than $5 million in community benefit programs and services.
