Henry County resident appointed Manager of Health Care Operations for new Kaiser Permanente Medical Center

ATLANTA, Ga. – Stockbridge resident Sharon D. McDonald, RN, was recently named Manager of Health Care Operations for Kaiser Permanente's new medical facility in McDonough, the Henry Towne Centre Medical Center.

No stranger to Henry County, McDonald says stepping into her new job is a perfect fit. She's been a part of the community for the past 25 years. A Stockbridge resident for more than 14 years, McDonald previously lived in Ellenwood for 11 years.

"Henry County is one of the state's fastest growing communities," said McDonald. "I'm familiar with this community and have established relationships with several business and civic leaders."

McDonald's vision for the new medical center is crystal clear. "I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of Kaiser Permanente's history in Henry County with the opening of our eleventh medical center in Georgia," she said. "We have the capacity to serve more than 22,000 members in our new facility. I know our team will uphold Kaiser Permanente's commitment to provide quality care and service to families in Henry County and surrounding communities."

McDonald and her husband, Steve, are the parents of two children, Trey, 6 and Kayla, 20 months-old.

Prior to her appointment, McDonald was Pediatrics Clinical Supervisor at Kaiser Permanente's Southwood Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Kaiser Permanente is the state of Georgia's largest nonprofit health plan, serving the health care needs of Atlanta metro area residents for 22 years. Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Georgia, Inc. currently provides comprehensive health care services to approximately 275,000 members through 15 medical facilities in a 28-county service, and a network of affiliated hospitals and physicians. The Health Plan provided more than $5 million in community benefit programs and services.
