Kaiser Permanente opens 12th medical facility in Georgia
Brookwood at Peachtree medical office will serve 12,000 Kaiser members
ATLANTA, Ga. – On Monday, February 17, Kaiser Permanente will open its twelfth medical facility to accommodate members who live and work in Midtown, Buckhead and surrounding areas.
The Kaiser Permanente Brookwood at Peachtree medical office is located in Brookwood Place, a mixed-use retail and residential community at 1745 Peachtree Road, just south of Piedmont Hospital. In addition to Kaiser Permanente, Spa Sydell, Kroger, Regions Bank, Borders Books & Music, Viking Culinary Arts Center and Swoozies are located in the development.
The 13,964-sq. ft. medical office represents a $1.8 million investment in the community and has the capacity to serve approximately 12,000 members.
Kaiser Permanente will staff the facility with two physicians, and clinical and administrative personnel. Physicians practicing at the medical office will offer an approach to care that appeals to active adults with busy lifestyles. Services include routine adult medicine with a focus on prevention and pharmacy services. Operating hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.
This is the second medical facility Kaiser Permanente has opened in six months. In September, the health plan opened the Henry Towne Centre Medical Center, at 1125 Towne Centre Village Drive in McDonough.
Note: Kaiser Permanente will hold a Dedication Ceremony for the new medical office on Wednesday, March 26, 10 - 11:30 a.m. Reporters interested in touring the facility before the opening or during the Dedication may contact Matthew Grund, 404-364-7074.
Kaiser Permanente is the state of Georgia's largest nonprofit health plan, serving the health care needs of Atlanta metro area residents for 22 years. Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Georgia, Inc. currently provides comprehensive health care services to approximately 275,000 members through 15 medical facilities in a 28-county service, and a network of affiliated hospitals and physicians. The Health Plan provided more than $5 million in community benefit programs and services.
