Free blood sugar screenings at 10 Kaiser Permanente locations
ATLANTA, Ga.
| Who/What: | In recognition of Diabetes Alert Day, Kaiser Permanente of Georgia will provide free blood glucose screenings for adults at 10 of its medical centers. The screenings are available on a first-come, first-served basis for both Kaiser Permanente members and the general public. |
| When/Where: | Screenings take place on Tuesday, March 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the following Kaiser Permanente medical centers:

| Why: | Diabetes Alert Day is a one-day call-to-action for people to find out if they are at risk for diabetes and increase awareness about diabetes through screening and education. "Diabetes can be a silent disease," said Adrienne Mims, MD, Kaiser Permanente's Chief of Prevention and Health Promotion. "You can have it for years, not know it, and suffer harm to your eyes, nerves and kidneys during that time." |
