Kaiser Permanente of Georgia is offering flu shots
Here is the latest information regarding Kaiser Permanente of Georgia's flu shot policy, based on recent changes in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's guidelines as of January 27, 2005.
Kaiser Permanente of Georgia is now offering flu shots to Kaiser Permanente members and nonmembers based on the following CDC guideline, while supplies last:
"CDC urges continued emphasis on vaccinating people at high risk for serious influenza-related complications. In areas where supply is sufficient, state and local health officials may broaden vaccine use to make the most effective use of their supply."
The metro-Atlanta area has sufficient supply of the flu vaccine and Kaiser Permanente of Georgia will distribute the shots based on the following processes.
KP members
KP Members must call (404) 365-0966 to schedule a nurse visit appointment to get a flu shot. They can also get a flu shot through any of our three after-hours locations (Gwinnett, Cumberland and Southwood) without an appointment. If a member has a scheduled office visit, we will offer him/her a flu shot as part of their visit.
Nonmembers
Nonmembers can get a flu shot for $15 at any Kaiser Permanente medical office Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Dates and hours nonmembers can get flu shots at the Brookwood medical office are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Flu shots for nonmembers are also available at Kaiser Permanente's three after-hours locations Monday through Friday, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Kaiser Permanente is the state of Georgia's largest nonprofit health plan, serving the health care needs of Atlanta metro area residents for 22 years. Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Georgia, Inc. currently provides comprehensive health care services to approximately 275,000 members through 15 medical facilities in a 28-county service, and a network of affiliated hospitals and physicians. The Health Plan provided more than $5 million in community benefit programs and services.
