Flu Shot Saturday kicks off Kaiser Permanente of Georgia's fall influenza campaign
ATLANTA, Ga. – On October 1, Kaiser Permanente of Georgia will kick off its annual flu vaccine service with Flu Shot Saturday at 11 medical facilities (listed below). Kaiser's Brookwood medical office is not participating in Flu Shot Saturday.
On Flu Shot Saturday, Kaiser members at the highest risk for influenza complications are encouraged to get the vaccine, while supplies last. Non-members who are caregivers to Kaiser members can get a shot for $20. Pneumonia vaccinations are also available, but the intranasal vaccine will not be administered.
Kaiser's flu shot service is contingent upon the availability of vaccine supply and is subject to change. In addition to Flu Shot Saturday, Kaiser members will have other opportunities to receive a flu shot:

During the day on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
Walk-in visits at all Kaiser medical centers
Members can get flu shots on a walk-in basis at Kaiser medical
facilities from 9 a.m. to noon, and again from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Times at the Kaiser Permanente Brookwood Medical Office are
7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and again from 1:00 to 3 p.m.
October 4- 30
Evenings: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
Weekends: Saturdays and Sundays
After-Hours at three Kaiser Permanente locations
Flu shots will also be offered at Kaiser's After-Hours centers
at Cumberland, Southwood and Gwinnett on Tuesdays, Wednesdays
and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays
from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

GUIDELINES:
- Persons age 50 years and older
- Persons age 2-64 with cardiovascular or pulmonary disorders (i.e., asthma), chronic metabolic disease (i.e., diabetes, renal dysfunction, anemia, immunosuppressive or immunodeficiency disorders requiring hospitalization in the past year)
- Residents of centers for patients with chronic medical conditions (i.e., nursing home) or at institutional settings (i.e., dormitories, prisons)
- Groups who can transmit influenza to persons at high risk (i.e., health care and public safety workers)
- Women who become pregnant during the flu season
- Household contacts of persons who are high risk
- Patients who have been discharged from the hospital
- Infants ages 6-23 months (and six months to 18 years if on chronic aspirin therapy)
- Persons with any condition that can compromise secretions and increase the risk of aspiration such as cognitive dysfunctions (dementia, stroke, Parkinsons disease, cerebral palsy, Down's syndrome), spinal cord injuries, neuromuscular disorders (i.e., multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis)
Kaiser Permanente's flu shot schedules are subject to
change. Members are encouraged to call Kaiser Permanente at
404-365-0966 for specific times and dates before visiting a
center.
