HEAL Grant Lends Helping Hand to Community

Kaiser Permanente Presents $10,000 in Grants at 10-Year Anniversary

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. – To commemorate the 10-year anniversary of Kaiser Permanente’s Glenlake Medical Center in Sandy Springs, three grants totaling $10,000 were presented to local groups on Wednesday, October 19, at noon.

Woodland Elementary Charter School, Dunwoody Springs Charter School and the Mary Hall Freedom House will each receive $3,333 to support programs that encourage eating healthier foods and leading physically active lifestyles.  Representatives from each organization were on hand to accept the grants.

"Glenlake has opened its arms to the community of Sandy Springs and has a history of making a difference in this community.  We are proud to donate HEAL grants to Woodland Elementary Charter School, Dunwoody Springs Charter School and the Mary Hall Freedom House," said Jenny Wingard, regional director of primary care for Kaiser Permanente.

The KP Glenlake Medical Office serves more than 13,000 Kaiser Permanente members.

Kaiser Permanente of Georgia provides health care services to its members through 12 medical facilities and a network of affiliated hospitals and physicians in its 20-county metro Atlanta service area.

Kaiser Permanente is the state of Georgia's largest nonprofit health plan, serving the health care needs of Atlanta metro area residents for 22 years. Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Georgia, Inc. currently provides comprehensive health care services to approximately 275,000 members through 15 medical facilities in a 28-county service, and a network of affiliated hospitals and physicians. The Health Plan provided more than $5 million in community benefit programs and services.
