27th Annual Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk & Fitness Program Kicks Off with First Information Meeting
First information meeting to be held Tuesday, May 19
WHAT: Kaiser Permanente will be hosting a series of information meetings about its 2009 Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk & Fitness Program over the next several months, with the first meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 19.
Now in its 27th year, the program offers a "Get Active Atlanta" eight-week workplace-organized fitness program, culminating in corporate teams participating and competing in a 5-kilometer road race through downtown Atlanta. The information sessions will provide attendees with an overview of the program and important fitness tips, as well as feature motivational presentations by well-known community leaders and team captains.
WHO: This year’s guest speakers will include:
- Dr. Josh Glass, Georgia Sports Chiropractic
- Elizabeth David, Chick-fil-A Atlanta Corporate Challenge
- Daphne Hill, Atlanta Community Food Bank, a 2009 race beneficiary
- Ericka Newsome, Atlanta Braves Foundation, a 2009 race beneficiary

- Tuesday, May 19, 2009, 6–8 p.m. at Park Tavern (500 10th St. NE, Atlanta) *New this year: A social hour and networking session from 5–6 p.m.*
- Thursday, June 11, 2009, 6 – 8 p.m. at Assurant (260 Interstate N Cir. SE, Atlanta)
- Wednesday, July 29, 6 – 8 p.m. at Waffle House, Inc. (5986 Financial Dr., Norcross)

The Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk & Fitness Program is a unique workplace-organized fitness event that began in 1983 in Atlanta with 900 participants from a handful of companies. Designed to inspire fun, fitness and camaraderie among Atlanta's corporate community, the annual event attracts more than 15,000 participants from
400 plus companies and is one of the largest workplace organized corporate fitness events in the Southeast.
