NCQA: Kaiser Permanente Georgia Remains Top-Ranked Health Plan in the State
ATLANTA — Kaiser Permanente Georgia is the highest ranked commercial health plan in the state for the seventh consecutive year, according to the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) posted here. Kaiser Permanente Georgia ranked 52 among 288 plans nationwide, climbing nine spots in the past year.
NCQA, managed care’s major accrediting body, evaluates health plans based on customer satisfaction, treatment and prevention. The data is analyzed and converted to scores from zero to 100. Kaiser Permanente Georgia scored 85.5, ranking the plan 75 spots above any private health plan in the state.
Kaiser Permanente Georgia received top scores in the following preventive care categories:
- Early immunizations
- Adolescent immunizations
- Cervical cancer screening
- Counseling on nutrition
- Adult body mass index assessment
“Our ranking reflects the success of Kaiser Permanente’s coordinated care model, which has been enhanced by our electronic medical record system, Kaiser Permanente HealthConnect®,” explained Kerry Kohnen, president of Kaiser Permanente Georgia. “It provides our health care teams with a complete medical history of our patients, enabling them to deliver the best care.”
“KP HealthConnect also allows our patients to communicate via secure e-mail with their doctors, refill prescriptions, make appointments and use dozens of programs and resources to help them stay healthy,” added Kohnen. “Our members appreciate the added convenience.”
