Kaiser Permanente to Open New Medical Center in West Cobb

Adrienne Gordon

ATLANTA — When Cobb resident Adrienne Gordon first heard about Kaiser Permanente’s plan to build a new medical center in West Cobb, she was elated.  "The new location is less than two miles from my house," said Gordon, who has been a Kaiser member for eight years. Gordon currently seeks care at Kaiser’s Kennesaw medical center, which is about a 30-minute drive for her.

"Today’s consumers want convenience," said Gordon. "The thing I enjoy most about Kaiser Permanente is that you can get most medical services at one location. I also like the fact that Kaiser is one of the few plans that lets patients send e-mails to their doctor. I see this as a real plus, especially for senior citizens or people who don’t always have time to come in for an office visit."

Kaiser’s new West Cobb medical center officially opens on Monday, February 26, making it the health plan’s third facility in Cobb County. The medical center is located along the East-West Connector at 3640 Tramore Pointe Parkway, nestled between a growing commercial and residential area.

"Having first-class preventive and health services like this makes Cobb more attractive to prospective businesses and families who want to experience a high quality of life," said Gordon, an entrepreneur. "I am so impressed to Kaiser Permanente’s health care model that I recently joined their Member Advisory Council, which represents the interests of other Kaiser members.

"I am really looking forward to taking some of the Healthy Living classes that Kaiser Permanente will offer in the future at the center," added Ms. Gordon. The popular classes, which include yoga, diabetes management, nutrition, stress reduction, weight control, managing menopause and more, are often open to both members and non-members.

Kaiser Permanente is the state of Georgia's largest nonprofit health plan, serving the health care needs of Atlanta metro area residents for 22 years. Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Georgia, Inc. currently provides comprehensive health care services to approximately 275,000 members through 15 medical facilities in a 28-county service, and a network of affiliated hospitals and physicians. The Health Plan provided more than $5 million in community benefit programs and services.
