HONOLULU — Kaiser Permanente Hawaii has the highest-rated Medicaid plan in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report/National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA) 2009 – 10 “America’s Best Health Insurance Plans” rankings. Kaiser Permanente Hawaii was also ranked among the top 15 Medicare plans in the nation. The rankings are based on clinical quality, member satisfaction, and NCQA Accreditation scores among all reporting Medicaid and Medicare plans in the nation. NCQA and U.S. News & World Report collaborated to rank the nation’s commercial, Medicare and Medicaid health plans.

And, in turn, it gives us great pride knowing that our members are satisfied with the services they are receiving.”
Of all reporting Medicaid plans, Kaiser Permanente Hawaii is ranked the highest in the nation with a score of 89.4 out of 100. For placing among the top five Medicaid plans, Kaiser Permanente Hawaii also receives the “Honor Roll” mention as a top-performing plan in both U.S. News & World Report’s Web site and the publication’s December issue.
Among Medicare plans, Kaiser Permanente Hawaii scored 86.5 out of 100, earning the 14th highest score in the nation and making it the highest-rated plan in Hawaii. For placing among the top 15 Medicare plans, Kaiser Permanente Hawaii will also be listed in the print edition of U.S. News & World Report.
More than 10 million consumers, employers, benefits managers and consultants will have access to the rankings through U.S. News & World Report’s magazine and Web site. The magazine will list the top 50 commercial, top 25 Medicaid and top 25 Medicare plans. A complete list of the rankings is available online at www.usnews.com/healthplans.
