Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals Names Jenny J. Ming as Board Member

Former president of Old Navy joins Oakland-based not-for-profit

OAKLAND, Calif. – Jenny J. Ming, the former president of Old Navy, has been named to the Board of Directors of the not-for-profit Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals.

"We are extremely pleased by the addition of Jenny Ming to our Board," said KFHP/KFH CEO and Chairman George C. Halvorson. "Jenny brings to the role years of distinguished expertise in the corporate arena as well as a deep understanding of the issues facing large organizations. Her record of community service will be particularly relevant to our own community service efforts."

Ms. Ming has an extensive record of achievement in her field. From March 1999 to October 2006, she served as president of Old Navy, a $6.7 billion business segment of The Gap, Inc., where she oversaw all aspects of Old Navy and its 900 retail clothing stores in the United States and Canada. Ms. Ming joined Gap, Inc. in 1986 serving in various executive capacities in its San Francisco headquarters. In 1994, she was a member of the executive team that launched Old Navy.

Business Week magazine named Ms. Ming one of the nation's top 25 managers in 2000. In 2003, she ranked No. 42 on Fortune magazine's list of 50 most powerful women in American business. Ms. Ming also serves as a board member of the Committee of 100, a national, non-profit non-partisan organization that brings a Chinese American perspective to issues concerning Asian Americans and United States relations with China. In addition, Ms. Ming serves on the board of the Merage Foundation for the American Dream, which is dedicated to promoting expanded opportunities for immigrants to the United States. Ms. Ming is the recipient of the Business and Community Award for 2006, and also serves on the advisory board of Cornell University, College of Human Ecology.

Ms. Ming received her Bachelor of Arts degree in clothing merchandizing from San Jose State University.
