Paul B. Records Named Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer, for Kaiser Permanente

Oakland, Calif. — Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals has announced the appointment of Paul B. Records as senior vice president and chief human resources officer for the organization. Records has been leading the national human resources function on an acting basis since late 2007. In addition to overseeing the company’s relations with its 30 unions, he has been spearheading the development of the company’s first-ever People Strategy, intended to help drive top business performance by strategically focusing on improving and streamlining people-related tools, systems and processes.

With 28 years of experience in the HR profession, Records joined Kaiser Permanente in January 2006 as senior vice president, Human Resources, for the Northern California Region. In that role, he undertook a complete realignment of key recruiting and administrative operations in the region to better serve the needs of the business.

Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, Records served as vice president, corporate human resources for McKesson Corporation, where he led a successful companywide transformation of the human resources function. He also spent 21 years with Champion International Corporation in Stamford, Conn., in a variety of human resources and organizational development positions, culminating in his final role at Champion as chief HR officer.

Records holds a bachelor's in science degree in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island.
