Kaiser Permanente Rates High in San Francisco Business Times’ ‘Best Places to Work’ Poll
Second-place finish among large businesses tops No. 4 ranking in 2009
OAKLAND, Calif. — Kaiser Permanente is among the best places to work in the Bay Area, according to the results in this year’s “Best Places to Work” poll by the San Francisco Business Times.
The largest health-care provider in Northern California ranked second among businesses with 1,500 or more employees in the 2010 poll. This is up from fourth place in 2009 and seventh place in 2008.
“The award demonstrates that Kaiser Permanente is not only a leader in providing high quality health care, but also an organization that has created an environment where employees are valued and appreciated for the important work they do every day, ” said Gay Westfall, senior vice president for human resources in Northern California. “This recognition is a tribute to our outstanding physicians and employees, who strive to create a collaborative environment of continuous learning and improvement, so we can further enhance the health and well-being of our patients and the communities we serve,”
The San Francisco Business Times cited several positive attributes that contributed to Kaiser Permanente’s high rating this year: “Diversity; shared commitment and vision; a constructive and supportive work environment; and employees who have a voice, and an opportunity to have their voices heard and to make a difference.”
The complete results of the 2010 poll will be published in the April 30–May 6 issue of the San Francisco Business Times.
