Kaiser Permanente Needs Hospice Volunteers

PORTLAND, Ore. – Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that engages your heart, mind, and spirit in caring for others in your own neighborhood?

Join the Kaiser Permanente Hospice volunteer team and make a difference in the lives of patients who are struggling with terminal illness. Hospice volunteers provide home-based physical and emotional support to terminally ill patients and respite for their caregivers in Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington counties.

Kaiser Permanente offers a free evening training class series for hospice volunteers. Held in North Portland with easy access from I-5, the next class series will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 to 4 p.m., starting January 18 through February 6 with one Saturday session on January 27. Although volunteers from all areas are sought, those from Hillsboro, Clackamas, Beaverton, Sandy and NE Portland are particularly needed.

For more information or to register, call Kaiser Permanente's hospice volunteer coordinator, Juanita Oliver at 503-499-5285.

Kaiser Permanente is America’s leading integrated health care organization. Founded in 1945, the organization serves the health needs of more than 8.4 million people nationwide. More than 485,000 people in Oregon and Southwest Washington receive their health care from Kaiser Permanente.
