Kaiser Permanente Announces New Dental Office in Oregon City
OREGON CITY, Ore. — Kaiser Permanente Northwest will open the new Oregon City Dental Office this fall, a facility that city officials hope will help spur growth at the Oregon City Shopping Center, on McLoughlin Blvd., just off Interstate 205.
“Having Kaiser Permanente will be very good for Oregon City,” said Mayor Doug Neeley.
The announcement was made at the North Clackamas Chamber of Commerce State of the Cities luncheon today.
Kaiser Permanente Northwest senior leaders say the new 6,500 square-foot office will offer general and pediatric dentistry, and that it will bring greater access and convenience to people who live in Clackamas County.
"Our Clackamas County dental members have been asking for us to open a second location,” said John Snyder, DMD, CEO of Permanente Dental Associates, P.C. “We're happy to have found an ideal location that offers them both choice and convenience on where to receive dental care."
The office will open with a staff offering a full range of dental services to members, and in one to two months that staff will nearly double in size.
"This will be Kaiser Permanente Northwest's first-ever location in Oregon City, and it’s part of a larger growth plan we have for both medical and dental members in Oregon," said Mark Enger, vice president and COO.
Kaiser Permanente Northwest’s dental presence in Clackamas County began with the opening of the first office across the street from Kaiser Permanente Sunnyside Medical Center, but its contributions extend much deeper. For example, Kaiser Permanente Northwest has helped fund a half-time, school-based dental wellness coordinator, and has awarded a similar grant to the Canby School District. In February, the Dental Care Program donated 6,000 oral-hygiene kits for student health education in Clackamas County.
These efforts are part of the Kaiser Permanente mission to give back to the communities we serve. Kaiser Permanente leaders believe that too many of our citizens are without dental coverage, especially children. Kaiser Permanente Northwest’s Dental Care Program is one of the providers of oral health care as part of Healthy KidsConnect, which extends coverage to uninsured children in Oregon.
The Oregon City Dental Office will be the 17th Kaiser Permanente Northwest Dental Care Program facility. To learn more about the program, go to kp.org/dental/nw.
