Kaiser Permanente to Open New Medical Office in Hillsboro
HILLSBORO, Ore. — Kaiser Permanente Northwest will continue to make access more convenient for its medical and dental members in Washington County with the Hillsboro Medical Office, opening in September.
The medical office is located at 5357 W Baseline Road, in the midst of Hillsboro’s residential neighborhoods, and will open for patient care on Sept.15. Renovations are under way, and workers are making great progress.
The medical office is the second of Kaiser Permanente’s smaller medical offices on the west side; the Murrayhill Medical Office opened in October 2009. Hillsboro will be Kaiser Permanente’s fifth medical office in Washington County, joining Beaverton, Tualatin and Sunset. There are three dental care locations on the west side — Beaverton, Aloha and Sunset.
The Hillsboro Medical Office will offer family medicine and pediatric care (provided by family medicine clinicians) to members in fast-growing Washington County. There will be a pharmacy, as well as limited lab testing.
“With the Hillsboro Medical Office, we are making it more convenient than ever for our west side members to access primary medical care,” said Andrew McCulloch, president of Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and Health Plan of the Northwest. “We want families to be able to take the kids to see their doctor without missing too much school time in the car. Making it easy for you to get what you need is part of our philosophy of total health.”
The Hillsboro Medical Office is part of a significant expansion by Kaiser Permanente Northwest into the Portland metro area’s west side. The centerpiece of that effort is Kaiser Permanente Westside Medical Center, a new hospital under construction in the Tanasbourne area of Hillsboro. Opening in 2013, the hospital will include specialty medical care offices. It is the first hospital built in the metro area in nearly 40 years. Its “green” design will make it the first LEED Gold certified health care facility in the metro area.
