Kaiser Permanente Sunnyside Hospital Named ‘High Performer’ in U.S. News & World Report Survey
PORTLAND, Ore. — In U.S. News & World Report’s annual “Best Hospitals Guide” published today, Kaiser Permanente Sunnyside Medical Center was ranked in the top 25 percent nationally for performance in the following areas of specialty care:
- Gastroenterology
- Gynecology
- Orthopedics
- Pulmonology
The magazine also ranked Kaiser Permanente Sunnyside Medical Center No. 3 for quality among Portland metro-area hospitals.
Kaiser Permanente has invested $300 million in the hospital, and the U.S. News survey is just one of its recent accolades. Here are some of the others:
- HIMMS Stage 7: Administered by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, this recognizes the highest stage of electronic health record implementation, meaning the hospital has paperless records. - American Society of Thoracic Surgeons’ Three Stars: The trusted quality standard for heart and vascular surgery programs, the Kaiser Permanente Northwest Center for Heart and Vascular Care earned the highest rating in its second year. The center opened in 2009.
- HealthGrades: Top 5 percent of U.S. hospitals.
